Painter of seascapes and landscapes born in Lyon on May 27, 1862, died in 1918.
Charles Malfroy is in the post-impressionist line of Jean-Baptiste Olive, Felix Ziem, Theophile Henri Decanis . Attracted by the light of the Mediterranean ports, he excels in views of the Côte d'Azur, the Var and the Bouches-du-Rhone, in particular the port of Martigues, the "Venice of Provence", Venice, Istanbul He also painted some pictures of Venice.
He demonstrates virtuosity in the atmospheric effects with a talent of colorist.
